"Dad your phone is ancient"
"Dad! Learn to text"
"Dad! Why are you so slow at texting?"
"Dad, you really should be on facebook."
For the past few years my daughter and son have been trying to get me to catch up with the new age of technology. I resisted. Now, its 2010 and not only am I texting away, I am on Facebook, Twitter and now I'm "blogging." I never thought I would be on the web.
After 55 years of doing things the old school way, I find myself checking facebook everday. They told me I would get addicted, but I didn't believe it. And although I am not sure how to write on walls or message people, I know how to accept friends and I'm sure, like texting, I will get the hang of how to do the rest. I just need a little time.
What was the first thing my daughter said to me about being online?
"Welcome to 2010 Dad. I hate your facebook profile picture. Change it."
But regardless, I am looking forward to the year ahead. Big things coming to Cigarmasters! Keep checking back to read my thoughts on the new web stuff I'm trying and learn about the events coming to your local Cigarmasters, or better yet, stop in and have a cigar and drink and lounge with me, LJ at Cigarmasters, Providence.

Priceless! This was a pleasure to read. I think its great when technology is embraced and the benefits are seen. LJ does it with ambitious hesitance and comes through shining. I look forward to lounging with LJ a year from now to read his Blogs of 2010, having a great cigar, some Single Barrel Jack and a good laugh as we see what technology does to this innocent soul! Keep it coming!
ReplyDeleteYea LJ! Love the blog...and it is a better picture. I'll see you and Brandon after work for that single barrel jack!
