It has been a few weeks now that I have been braving this new world of technology. And I have to tell you, I am DEFINITELY getting the hang of it. Never thought I would say it, but I like being instantly connected to the social networking world.
What I am curious about however is why everything has a "chat" feature. I go to check my google mail, there's a chat feature. Yahoo mail, chat feature, Facebook chat feature. I don't get it. Aren't we already instantly connected when I send an email? Can't you just text me or call me if you want to chit-chat? When I asked my daughter about it she said it was just another way to connect instantly. Everything on the web has been invented to make our lives even easier. I don't know about that. By the time I notice the pop up chat thingy at the bottom of the screen and type out my response, the person is gone. Guess I have to work on my typing skills. This two finger thing isn't working too well I guess.
But enough for today on my voyage through web world. There are so many other exciting things going on that I am looking forward to. On February 10th I will be embarking on my first trip to Nicaragua to the Perdomo factory. There I will get to learn more about cigars and how they are made and bring new knowledge back to my friends in Providence. I'm hoping we get to sample them. Ha Ha. No I really hope we do.
I am also co-chairing MADD RI's annual golf tournament with my friend Captain Timothy Lee of the Providence Police Department. Two of my biggest passions in life (besides cigars of course) are my children and golf, and to be asked to co-chair this tournament is especially meaningful to me.
Before my son L.J,Jr. became a RI State Trooper in November, he was the Youth Program Coordinator for the RI chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving for a number of years. For the past two years, my daughter Kaitlin has served on the MADD golf committee taking up the cause to eliminate drunk driving alongside her brother. To be able to serve on the committee of a cause that both my children are so passionate about is a great honor. I hope we can make this tournament a huge success. We have some great ideas in store for the tournament. If you would like to join the committee, participate in the tournament, or donate to the silent auction, contact me for details at lj@cigarmasters.com
That's it for today. I gotta go check my Facebook. Please don't pop-up chat me. It will take me wayyyy to long to get back to you.
Keep checking back to hear about my adventures in life, the big things coming to Cigarmasters Providence and be sure to stop in, lounge and have a Jack Daniels Single Barrel (or the drink of your choice) and a cigar with me at Cigarmasters Providence soon!

ReplyDeleteLJ, you are taking to this like a fish to a hook!
I can't wait to read the next one. I am sure it may contain a small hint of bitterness as your trip was postponed for a couple weeks - THANKS TO WONDERFUL NE WEATHER - But, hey it could be worse, it could be better - and it looks like you take it in stride. Look forward to the adventure on the 23rd!
